Environmentally Contaminated Real Estate – Bonz and Company was an early pioneer of redevelopment analyses for environmental contaminated properties as well as analyses of the impact of contamination upon property value. Working with land planners and environmental specialists we have developed redevelopment strategies that maximize the value of contaminated sites to offset the remediation costs and once again make the properties productive. Examples of this approach was the formulation of a redevelopment strategy for a superfund site that enabled the property to be redeveloped for retail, research, and high-tech uses and a contaminated former chemical company site to be redeveloped for retail uses. The firm has also worked with property owners and developers to evaluate the development potentials and possible impact of contamination upon properties that they own or are considering purchasing Members of the firm have served as expert witnesses in contamination related litigation for commercial, industrial, and residential properties.
